Most tank projects need piping, structures and coatings alongside the tank itself. We do all of it, with one team on one programme and a single QC pack.
The problem with multiple contractors
One contractor for the full scope.
The standard petrochemical project carries multiple contractors: a civil contractor for the base, a tank specialist, a piping contractor for the tie-ins, a steel fabricator for the supporting structures, an applicator for the coatings and an electrical contractor for the instrumentation. That means multiple scopes, multiple programmes, multiple QC packs and multiple contracts, with a client team coordinating the gaps between them.
We deliver all of them. The same Construction Manager and Compliance Manager run it, under one QCP framework, with one handover pack. The client deals with one accountable party when something needs to change mid-project. That means fewer interfaces and fewer hand-off failures.
Capabilities
What's included.
Process piping (ASME B31.3)
Manifold piping, surge lines, tie-ins, pump-station piping. Workshop fabrication and field welding by coded welders. Full NDT, hydrotest, weld maps reconciled to the line list at handover.
Structural steel
Pipe racks, gantries, sprinkler-support frames, walkways, access platforms. New build and refurbishment to SANS 10162, Eurocode or AWS D1.1, with coatings specified for the operating environment.
Industrial coatings
Internal linings (epoxy phenolic, novolac), external 3-coat systems, cathodic protection. Applied under manufacturer approvals from Akzonobel, PPG, Jotun and Carboline.
Fire protection
Sprinkler systems and fire-water distribution piping for tank farms, pump bays and depot infrastructure. Designed and installed to NFPA 13 or SANS 10287, with hydrotest and witness commissioning.
Foundation works
Ring beam construction, sand pad preparation, oily-water containment, settlement monitoring. This is the first step of any new tank build, and it determines how the tank ages.
Specialist installation
Geodesic dome installation (Elsont approved), internal floating roof installation (aluminium and stainless), floating-suction systems for jet fuel.
Electrical & instrumentation (SANS 10142)
The electrical and instrumentation work that comes with a tank scope: power and control cabling, earthing and bonding, tank instrumentation, and commissioning alongside the rest of the programme.

Frequently asked questions.
Can these be scoped standalone, or only with a tank?
Standalone is fine. Piping, structural steel, coatings and fire protection all run as their own scopes when that's what the client needs. They show up bundled most often because that's how tank projects are built, but we regularly take on standalone work in any of these disciplines.
What does "under one roof" actually mean in practice?
One contract. One Construction Manager owning the programme. One QC pack at handover covering every weld, plate, coating layer and bolt torque. The client deals with one accountable party rather than coordinating multiple trades.
Which standards apply to the integrated work?
ASME B31.3 for process piping. ASME Section IX for welding. SANS 10162 for structural steel. ISO 12944 for protective coatings. NFPA 13 for fire-water sprinklers. All run under our ISO 9001:2015 quality and ISO 45001:2018 safety systems.
Are the coating applicators in-house?
Yes. We hold applicator approvals from Akzonobel International, PPG Sigma, Jotun and Carboline. Our own teams do the surface prep, atmospheric monitoring and application under those approvals. None of it is subcontracted.
